PUMPS GENERAL INFORMATION

Hot Tub Pump 48 and 56 Frame Different?

There's a lot to consider when shopping for a hot tub pump – from size and shape, to frame types and voltage. But if you're just starting out in the hot tub world, all those choices can be overwhelming. So what makes a 48 frame hot tub pump different?

The main difference lies in the motor housing size. The 48 frame pump has a smaller motor housing, which means that the four through bolts that fasten the wet end to the motor are closer together than those on a 56 frame pump. Measuring between consecutive through bolts (not across diagonal) on a 48 frame hot tub yields a measurement of about 3 9/16 inches, while a 56 frame hot tub has through bolts that measure about 4 1/8 inches apart.

It's important to pay attention to the size and type of motor housing you're choosing for your hot tub pump – and not just because it affects the distance between through bolts! Different sized frames can accommodate different motors, which means that they'll also affect the power of your hot tub pump. Luckily, with a little research, you can find the perfect fit for your hot tub and relax in peace!

What's more, if you're looking to upgrade or replace an existing hot tub pump motor, it's important to keep all these details in mind. After all, the last thing you want is to purchase a pump that isn't compatible with your existing hot tub setup. So take the time to research the different frame sizes and their corresponding motors before you make a purchase! That way, you can be sure that your new hot tub pump will fit in perfectly. Don't Make a Mistake with Your Hot Tub Pump!

Are you thinking of replacing the pump in your hot tub? Don't make a mistake and order the wrong size, or your plumber won't be too happy!

Most spa pumps use either 1.5” or 2” plumbing fittings to attach them to the hot tub plumbing system. Remember that these are pipe call-out sizes, not fitting measurements - so make sure you measure correctly!

No matter what the brand of the pump is, measuring your pipe's diameter will ensure that you're getting the right size to do the job properly. Don't risk ordering something too small or too large for your hot tub and ending up with a pump that doesn't work without replumbing!

Always refer to your hot tub manual before getting started, and double-check the measurements of your existing pump before ordering a replacement. That way, you can be sure you're getting the right size for your hot tub - no second guessing required!

If you're looking for help finding the right pump for your hot tub, don't hesitate to consult a professional or call our desk at 1-855-248-0777 With help, you can be confident that you're ordering the perfect fit and will have a working pump in no time!

MEASURING  PLUMBING SIZE:

Pump hot tub plumbing size is very important, but a lot of people get it wrong and end up ordering the wrong pump. Most spa pumps use either 1.5” or 2” plumbing fittings and a few have 2.5” intake suction. These are pipe call-out sizes, not fitting measurements.
